We are Ada Hansen & Lars Hansen, two Swedes who are absolutely mad about skiing. We have skied all around the world and on this site we list the best ski hotels around the world.

This is what we looking for in a great ski hotel:

• It should preferably have so called ski-in/ski-out. Just put on your skis outside the hotel - no car or a shuttle needed to get to the slopes!

• It's lovely if the hotel has a nice swimming pool, a hot tub or a sauna.

• One thing we think is great is if the hotel has it's own ski rental service, so you can pre-book your skis. Especially when you have limited time or when you are traveling with kids, it can be quite frustrating to have to wait in line at a busy ski rental shop, when all you want to do is get out and ski.

• The best ski hotels also are not too big. A hotel with somewhat fewer rooms will have more personal service!

• It's nice if the hotel has it's own restaurant or a bar.

About us

My husband Lars and I met in the Austrian alps, literally on the side of the mountain. We were both going down the same ungroomed slope in St Anton when Lars lost control and tumbled down the hill. I’m an ambulance nurse so I took care of Lars while we waited for the helicopter to take him to the hospital.

Lars miraculously did not even break a bone, but the emotional intensity of our meeting stayed with both of us. Later that day we managed to get in touch and have been together ever since. Though our meeting was due to an accident, it has not stopped us from sharing our mad passion for the slopes.

Any chance we get we jump on a train or plain to go wherever the best snow is. We love to think about the best skiing destinations are share our best advice, so when we were given the opportunity to curate this site, we were thrilled.
